a California group arbovirus genus Bunyavirus, in the family Bunyaviridae, from central Europe, known to infect humans.

Tahyna virus

A negative-sense, single-stranded RNA virus of the Bunyaviridae family, genus Orthobunyavirus, California serogroup. It is widely distributed in Europe and Asia, transported by culicine (Culex spp) mosquitoes, and clinically causes fever and influenza-like symptoms, which may in some cases by accompanied by pneumonia and pleurisy, acute arthritis, pharyngitis and CNS involvement.
