Powassan virus
Po·was·san virus P5532050 (pə-wä′sən)n. A flavivirus transmitted by ticks that can cause mild febrile illness as well as severe, sometimes fatal encephalitis and meningitis. It is endemic to northern North America and northeast Asia.
