The reduction in structural complexity of vulvar tissue that commonly occurs with advancing age, which is manifest externally by drying, shrivelling and white patches. Formally known as kraurosis vulvae.
Clinical findings
Often asymptomatic; less commonly, itching, dyspareunia, dysuria and tenderness.
 
Treatment
Topical corticosteroids.
