Taifi
Taifi
one of the best varieties of table grapes. Taifi grapes, a late-maturing variety, may be eaten fresh or stored for winter consumption; when dried, they produce large, high-quality raisins. The clusters are very large and cone-shaped. The berry is an elongated oval and is relatively large, measuring 18–30 mm in length and 14–25 mm in width. The yield is as much as 20 tons per hectare. There are white and pink taifi varieties. Taifi grapes are cultivated in the republics of Soviet Middle Asia, in the Kazakh SSR, and in southern regions of the European USSR.
