Tesselated Fundus A normal ocular fundus in which the choroidal pattern appears as polygonal or tiled dark areas between choroidal vessels; the dark colouring is attributed to an attenuation of the retinal pigment epithelium layer and prominent choroid pigmentation, especially peripherally. Eyes with a tessellated fundus have significantly better best-corrected visual acuity and a much lower rate of progression of myopic maculopathy |
