Romashkin, Petr Semenovich
Born June 15, (28), 1915, in the village of Shugurovo, in what is now Leninogorsk Raion, Tatar ASSR; died July 4, 1975, in Moscow. Soviet jurist. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1958). Member of the CPSU from 1939.
Romashkin graduated from the Kazan Institute of Law in 1936. He worked in the apparatus of the Council of Ministers of the USSR from 1939 to 1958. From 1958 to 1964 he was director of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR; in 1964 he became director of the institute’s division on the general problems of criminal law. Romashkin’s principal works were on criminal law and international criminal law. Romashkin was awarded two orders and various medals.
