Special Features:A National Historic Landmark, Park interprets the Mississippi PeriodNative American village located here from AD 1000 to 1550 and visitedby the Hernando de Soto expedition in 1541. The mound site is jointlymanaged by Arkansas State Parks and the Arkansas Archeological Surveyas a research station, museum, and interpretive center.
