Parry Channel
Parry Channel A water route through the central Arctic Archipelago of northern Canada, linking Baffin Bay on the east with the Beaufort Sea on the west. It runs south of the Queen Elizabeth Islands and north of Baffin Island and Victoria Island.

Parry Channel a section of the Arctic Ocean in Canada’s Arctic Ocean archipelago. Parry Channel, named in honor of W. E. Parry, comprises Lancaster Sound, Barrow Strait, Viscount Melville Sound, and M’Clure Strait. It reaches depths of 1,000 m. Ice begins to form at the end of September and begins to thaw in July. In summer the ice becomes sparse in isolated areas, but only Lancaster Sound is ice-free to a significant extent. |
