Taitzu Ho

a river in northeast China, a left tributary of the Liao Ho. The T’aitzu Ho is 406 km long and drains an area of 14,000 sq km. It rises in Changpai Shan (East Manchuria Mountains) and in its lower course flows in the Sungliao Plain. It is fed by rain and is in high water in the summer. The mean flow rate in the lower course is about 100 cu m per sec. The river freezes in November and opens up in late February or early March. It is used for irrigation. The cities of Pench’i and Liaoyang are situated in the T’aitzu Ho valley.
