Volchia

a river in Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk oblasts, Ukrainian SSR; left-bank tributary of the river Samara (basin of the Dnieper). Length, 323 km; basin area, 13,300 sq km. Its average annual discharge of water (81 km from the mouth) is 5.3 cu m per sec. The city of Pavlograd is situated on the Volch’ia.
