Selliakh Bay

Selliakh Bay

an inlet in the southeastern part of the Laptev Sea, between the Manyko Peninsula in the west and the long, narrow peninsula terminating in Cape Turuktakh in the north. Selliakh Bay is approximately 55 km long, up to 25 km wide, and more than 10 m deep at its entrance. The shores are low and bordered by shoals. When winds raise the level of water in the bay, the shoals fill with water; when winds cause the water level to drop, the shoals dry up. The Selliakh and Billir rivers empty into the bay.
