partial product n (Mathematics) the result obtained when a number is multiplied by one digit of a multiplier par·tial product (pär′shəl) A product formed by multiplying the multiplicand by one digit of the multiplier when the multiplier has more than one digit. For example, the product of 67 multiplied by 12 is 134 (that is, 67 × 2) + 670 (that is, 67 × 10), or 804. In this example 134 and 670 are partial products.
