Automated Order System (AOS)

Investment bank computerized order entry system that sends single order entries to DOT (Odd-Lot) or to investment banks floor brokers on the exchange. See: Round lot, GTC orders.

Automated Order System

A computerized order-entry system that sends buy or sell orders to the appropriate specialist on the floor of a stock exchange, bypassing the floor broker. It is used to automatically execute smaller orders, generally defined as fewer than 1000 shares.
