Ayurvedic medicine
Any of a number of health-promoting regimens that a person uses regularly to maintain health and harmony, activate tissue repair and arrest or reverse the effects of ageing. Rasayanas may be herbal or behavioural: a herbal rasayana is a preparation of 10 to 20 distinct herbs, as well as fruits or minerals, and may be administered in pastes, powders, pills, teas or tinctures; behavioural rasayanas include asanas (yogic exercises), pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation.
