Sredna Gora

They are composed of crystalline rocks, sandstones, and limestones. The mountains have flat summits. The southern slopes are relatively gentle, and the northern slopes are steep. There are deposits of copper ore at Panagyurishte. Mineral springs are common, for example, at the balneological resorts of Khisaria, Pavel-Banya, and Stara Zagora. Oak and beech forests grow on the mountain slopes.
