Raspletin, Aleksandr Andreevich

 

Born Aug. 12 (25), 1908, in Rybinsk; died Mar. 8, 1967, in Moscow. Soviet scientist and designer in radio engineering and electronics. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1964; corresponding member, 1958); Hero of Socialist Labor (1956). Member of the CPSU from 1945.

Raspletin worked in the Central Radio Laboratory from 1930 to 1936. After graduating from the Leningrad Institute of Electrical Engineering in 1936, he worked in various scientific research and design organizations and conducted research; he also taught. Raspletin received the State Prize of the USSR in 1951 and the Lenin Prize in 1958. He was awarded the Order of Lenin and various medals.
