Pravda Vostoka

 

(Pravda of the East), a Russian-language daily published in Tashkent, in the Uzbek SSR. The first issue came out on Apr. 2, 1917. Originally called Nasha gazeta (Our Paper), the paper changed its name several times, acquiring its present name in late November 1924. It was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1956. Circulation, about 250,000 (1974).
