[′thrəst ‚ak·səs] (aerospace engineering) A line or axis through an aircraft or a rocket, along which the thrust acts; an axis through the longitudinal center of a jet or rocket engine, along which the thrust of the engine acts. Also known as axis of thrust; center of thrust.

thrust axis

thrust axisAn imaginary line along which the resultant thrust acts. It is aligned normally with the propelling nozzle, or it passes through the center of the propeller hub, perpendicular to the propeller rotation. The term is not used for helicopter thrust.
