vitamin B2 complex

vitamin B2 complex

An older term that formerly dignified all of the B vitamins except thiamine (vitamin B1). The B2 complex included riboflavin (vitamin B2), nicotinamide (vitamin B3), nicotinic and pantothenic acids (formerly vitamin B5), pyridoxine (which, with pyridoxal and pyridoxamine, was known as vitamin B6), vitamin B12, biotin and folic acid, as well as p-aminobenzoic acid, choline and inositol (the last three of which are no longer considered to be essential dietary constituents).
