employment rights for fathers in married couples or partners in co-habiting couples where one person in the couple is giving birth to, or adopting, a child. The principal right is to paid leave. The worker needs to have been employed for 26 weeks or more by the 15th week before the baby is due. The entitlement is to one or two consecutive weeks paid leave.
