unit pricing the practice of marking on product packs not only the PRICE per pack but the price per common unit of weight or volume, for example price per 500 grammes or price per litre. Unit pricing is generally undertaken for products like groceries which can be offered in a number of pack sizes for a particular brand, or where different brands are offered in a variety of sizes, in order to give consumers more accurate comparative price information.
