Unit Sales

A measure of the total amount of revenue a product generates divided by the total number of units of that product that were sold in a given time period. Companies use unit sales to determine how profitable a certain product is and, if necessary, to make improvements, expand, or cancel the product. Analysts may also use it as a way of determining changes in demand.

Sales measured in terms of physical units rather than dollars. Unit sales data are often used by financial analysts when evaluating the health of a company.
