Raška

 

(in Serbo-Croatian, RaSka Zemlja), the medieval name of a Serbian principality and, after 1217, the name of a Serbian kingdom. Raška was first mentioned in 12th-century sources. In the kingdom of Yugoslavia, Raška was a province, with Čačak, as its administrative center. In the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, RaSka is a city located at the confluence of the Raška and Ibar rivers.
