Baikov, Fedor Isakovich

 

Born circa 1612; died either 1663 or 1664. Russian political figure. Moscow nobleman. From 1654 to 1657 he traveled to China at the head of the first Russian embassy for the establishment of diplomatic and trade relations. Baikov’s mission was not successful. His Stateinyi spisok (Ambassador’s Report on His Travels) contains valuable information about Siberia and China.
