Utro Pravdy

 

(Morning of Truth), a legal newspaper and principal publication of the Revel committee of the RSDLP(B). Utropravdy was published from May 17 (30), 1917, through February 1918 and had a circulation of approximately 6,000. The editor was I. V. Rabchinskii. V. I. Lenin’s articles “One of the Secret Agreements” and “Political Parties in Russia and the Tasks of the Proletariat” were published in Utro pravdy. On July 13 (26) the newspaper was closed down by the bourgeois Provisional Government. On August 1 (14) it resumed publication under the name Zvezda (Star), and beginning on November 30 (Dec. 13), 1917, it was published under its former name. Publication ceased as a result of the occupation of Estonia by German troops.

Utro pravdy played an important role in attracting soldiers and sailors in the Baltic to Bolshevism.
