A decorative name for a number of hospitals scattered around Britain, which were allowed by the Crown to attached “Royal” to the marquee. Royal infirmaries are located in Aberdeen, Bristol, Cardiff, Derbyshire, Doncaster, Dumfries and Galloway, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Huddersfield, Hull, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, North Staffordshire and Sheffield.
