Rozhishche

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Rozhishche Raion, Volyn’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the Styr’ River (a tributary of the Pripiat’). Railroad station on the Kovel’-Kivertsy line. Population, 13,000 (1975). Rozhishche has a machine-building plant, as well as plants producing reinforced-concrete items, canned goods, and cheese. There is also a furniture factory, a branch of the Volyn’ Novovolynsk Cotton-textile Combine, and a zooveterinary technicum.
