释义 | Tringa
TringaTringa(sandpipers), a genus of birds of the suborder Limico-lae. The body is 20–31 cm long. The bill is straight or, as an exception, slightly curved upward. The coloration is a combination of white, gray, and blackish. There are ten species of Tringa, distributed in Europe, Asia, and North America. The USSR has seven species: the green-shank (T. nebularia), the green sandpiper (T. ochropus), the wood sandpiper (T. glareola), the redshank (T. totanus), the black redshank (T. erythropus), the marsh sandpiper (T. stag-natilis), and the spotted greenshank (T. guttifer). All members of the genus are migratory. The birds settle along the shores of rivers and lakes, and on marshes in the tundra, forest zone, or steppe. They nest on the ground; some nest in trees, occupying the nests of thrushes and other birds. Several other genera, such as Actitis, Heteroscelus, Xenus, and the American genus Catoptro-phorus, are closely related to the true sandpipers. Tringa
