vestibular hyperacusis

ves·tib·u·lar hy·per·a·cu·sis

(ves-tib'yū-lăr hī'pĕr-ă-kyū'sis) Abnormal sensitivity to noise in which the discomfort experienced is vestibular (e.g., vertigo, imbalance, nausea). The mechanism is thought to involve altered specificity of certain vestibular endorgans whereby they are abnormally receptive to pressure change and sound.
