Special Features:Park is the only state park in the US dedicated solely asa Vietnam veterans memorial. It was originally established in 1968 byVictor and Jeanne Westphall to honor their son, Lt. David Westphall,who was killed in Vietnam in May 1968. The memorial was transferred toNew Mexico State Parks in 2005 as the state's 33rd park. The memorialis open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The chapel is open 24 hoursa day, 7 days a week.
