[¦stāb·lər ′rän·skē i‚fekt] (solid-state physics) A reversible change (usually a reduction) in the dark conductivity and photoconductivity of hydrogenated amorphous silicon during and following illumination by light with sufficient energy to produce electron-hole pairs.
