Concrete, fabricted metal parts, and transportation equipment are manufactured. Urbana is best known as a seat of the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A tablet in the county courthouse commemorates a speech made by Abraham Lincoln in 1854. 2 City (1990 pop. 11,353), seat of Champaign co., W central Ohio, in a farm and livestock area; inc. 1814. It has hatcheries and plants that make a variety of manufactures. During the War of 1812 the city was an outfitting point for the Great Lakes area. Urbana College is there. Nearby are the Ohio Caverns.
