Bekker, Aleksandr Aleksandrovich
Born June 27, 1922, in Rubtsovo Raion, Altai Krai. Innovator in kolkhoz production. Team leader of the combined brigade of the Strana Sovetov Kolkhoz of Rubtsovo Raion, Altai Krai. Member of the CPSU since 1959.
From 1957 to 1967, Bekker’s brigade achieved an average crop yield of 18.2 centners (1 centner = 100 kg) of grain per hectare over an area of 1,800 hectares; in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1966 productivity reached 23–25 centners per hectare. For service in the development of agriculture, he was honored with the title Hero of Socialist Labor (1961). He was a deputy to the sixth convocation of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, medals of the USSR, and medals of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition and the Exhibition of the Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR.
