Varzi-Iatchi

a balneological and mud health resort in the Udmurt ASSR, 90 km from Izhevsk and 55 km from the Agryz station. The climate is moderate continental, with warm summers (average July temperature, 18° C), moderately cool winters (average January temperature, -15° C), and annual precipitation of about 500 mm. Therapeutic means include mineralized peat mud and mineral water with the chemical composition

which is used for drinking; a weak hydrogen-sulfide water is used for bathing. There is treatment of persons suffering from diseases of the motor and support organs, gynecological diseases, and diseases of the peripheral nervous system. There is a sanatorium and a water and mud therapy clinic.
