Serezha

Serezha

 

a river in Gorky Oblast, RSFSR, a right tributary of the Teshi (Oka River basin). The Serezha is 196 km long and drains an area of 2,730 sq km. Sinkholes occur on the floodplain in the upper and middle courses. The Serezha is fed primarily by snow. There is high water in April and May. The mean flow rate 71 km from the mouth is 2.4 cu m per sec. The river freezes in November or early December, and the ice breaks up in April. Timber is floated on the Serezha.
