Twisted Tape Sign Imaging-angiography A term referring to the appearance by contrast angiography of a dissecting aneurysm, in particular of the aorta, in which the ‘normal’ appearance—that of a linear double lumen separated by the displaced vascular intima floating between the true and false lumina—is lost and only the true lumen fills with contrast, while the false lumen compresses the contrast column from the outside. The resulting appearance has been likened to twisted cello tape
