Prešov

a city in Czechoslovakia, in East Slovakia, Slovak Socialist Republic. Population, 41,000 (1970). Railroad junction. Industries include machine building (electric meters and other devices), the production of textiles and garments, and woodworking. There is also a meat combine. Prešov has Slovak and Ukrainian theaters and a pedagogical institute.
