Rubenid
Rubenid
a dynasty of Armenian kings in the Cilician Armenian State, ruling from 1080 to 1375. The founder of the dynasty was Ruben, a retainer of the Ani king Gagik II. Outstanding figures in the dynasty included Leo I (1129–41), Mleh (1169–75), Ruben II (1175–87), Leo II (1187–1219), Hethum I (1226–70), and Leo III (1271–89). In 1375 the last king of the Rubenid dynasty, Leo VI, was captured by the Mamelukes and exiled to Egypt.
