Takhta

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Takhta Raion, Tashauz Oblast, Turkmen SSR, 20 km south of the Tashauz railroad station on the Chardzhou-Beineu line. Population, 7,400 (1975). Takhta has a cotton-ginning plant and two brickyards.
