Pribrezhnyi

Pribrezhnyi

a mountain range on the northwestern shore of the Sea of Okhotsk, Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. The range extends for 650 km from Uda Bay to the Okhota River and has elevations to 1,662 m. Composed of Upper Paleozoic diorites and Upper Mesozoic porphyrites and tuffs, it is separated from the Dzhugdzhur Mountains by a deep tectonic depression. The range is cut by river valleys into individual ranges (Ul’inskii, Aldomskii, and others). Rocky precipices surround the sea. Forests of Yeddo spruce occupy the valleys, which are protected from the action of sea winds.
