Tripol’e State Regional Electric Power Plant
a condensation electric power plant located in the settlement of Ukrainka, Obukhov Raion, Kiev Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. The Tripol’e Plant has an installed capacity of 1,800 megawatts, which is produced by six 300-megawatt units. Coal from the Donets Basin and mazut are used as fuel. Water is supplied directly to the plant from the Kanev Reservoir of the Dnieper. Construction of the plant was begun in 1963; the first unit was put into operation in 1969, and the last in 1972. The electric power is carried by high-voltage transmission lines operating at 110 and 330 kilo-volts. The Tripol’e State Regional Electric Power Plant is part of the Southern Integrated Power Grid and, through it, the Integrated Electric Power Grid of the USSR.
