Sergei Timofeevich Kishkin

Kishkin, Sergei Timofeevich

 

Born May 17 (30), 1906, in Lugansk, now Voroshilovgrad. Soviet scientist, specialist in physical metallurgy. Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1966; corresponding member, 1960). Honored Worker in Science and Technology of the RSFSR (1957). Member of the CPSU since 1939.

Kishkin graduated from the Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School in 1931. From 1948 to 1960 he was head of a sub-department at the Moscow Institute of Aviation. His principal investigations have been conducted in physical metallurgy. A recipient of the State Prize of the USSR (1942, 1949, 1968) he has been awarded the Order of Lenin, four other orders, and various medals.
