(prīs jōnz), a distribution curve of the measured diameters of red blood cells; it is to the right of the normal curve (that is, indicating larger diameters) in instances of pernicious anemia and other forms in which macrocytes are present, and to the left (that is, indicating smaller diameters) in iron deficiency and other forms of microcytic anemia.
