Vestnik Russkoi Revoliutsii

(Journal of the Russian Revolution), a sociopolitical review. A Socialist Revolutionary journal, published abroad (Paris-Geneva).

From July 1901 through March 1905 four issues of the Vestnik Russkoi Revoliutsii were published. This journal was founded by a “group of old members of People’s Will,” and its editor was K. Tarasov (N. S. Rusanov). The immediate participants were E. K. Breshko-Breshkovskaia, M. R. Gots, V. M. Chernov, L. E. Shishko, and others, whose articles set forth the Socialist Revolutionaries’ views on the role of the revolutionary intelligentsia, the agrarian question, and terror. The Vestnik russkoi revoliutsii provided information concerning antigovernment actions of students and the trials of terrorists. The journal actively opposed Marxism and the RSDLP and was especially against the Bolsheviks. On a number of questions it was close to the bourgeois liberals and revisionists.
