Rudok

(on modern Chinese maps, Jih-t’u), a city in China, in the western part of the Tibetan Autonomous Region; located in the northern foothills of the Pangong Range at an elevation of more than 4,400 m. Population, approximately 10,000. Rudok is one of the centers of high-mountain farming, with cultivation of tsinka, a hull-less barley.
