Established: 1931.
Location:Central North Dakota, on the south shore of Devils Lake.
Facilities:Visitor center, viewing sites, picnic area, trails, auto tour route (4 miles), historic features, amphitheater.
Activities:Hiking, cross-country skiing, educational programs.
Special Features:Sullys Hill is one of four refuges for American bison and elk managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Its herd of bison was established in 1918 with just six animals brought in from Portland, Oregon.
Habitats: 1,674 acres of wooded hills and wetland marshes.
Access: The auto tour route an nature trail are open from May through October, dawn to dusk.
Wild life: Bison, elk, deer, prairie dog, turkey, and waterfowl.
