Sultani

Sultani

(also Dzhaus), a grape variety with a moderately long ripening period. Sultani grapes are cultivated in the republics of Soviet Middle Asia and in the Armenian SSR. They also show promise for cultivation in southern viticultural regions of the USSR. The oval, smooth-skinned berry is very large (25–27 mm long, 19–25 mm wide) and is greenish white in color, with a sunburn on the side exposed to the sun. The grapes are eaten fresh or dried and are used to make table wines, dessert wines, fortified wines, and brandy.
