Veniamin Levich

Levich, Veniamin Grigor’evich

 

Born Mar. 17 (30), 1917, in Kharkov. Soviet theoretical physicist working in the field of physical chemistry. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1958).

Levich graduated from the University of Kharkov in 1937. From 1940 to 1958 he worked at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. Since 1958 he has been at the Institute of Electrochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

Levich’s principal works are devoted to the application of the methods of theoretical physics to the study of physicochemical processes, in particular, the problems of physicochemical hydrodynamics.
