Pedieis
Pedieis
(from the Greek pedion, “plain”; literally “residents of the plain”), one of the three political groupings in Attica in the sixth century B.C., along with the Parali and the Diacrii; in political struggle the Pedieis were connected with certain aristocratic clans. According to some historiographers, the Pedieis constituted the party of large landowners, while the Parali were that of the traders and artisans and the Diacrii that of the peasants.
