Snegarov, Ivan

 

Born Sept. 30, 1883, in Okhrid; died Mar. 1, 1971, in Sofia. Bulgarian historian. Academician of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (1943).

Snegarov was director of the Institute of History of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from 1947 to 1950 and director of the academy’s Institute of Archives from 1951 to 1959. His principal works dealt with the history of the Bulgarian church, Russian-Bulgarian ties, and feudal relations in the Middle Ages.
